Database Engineer

Job Description:

L1 Database Support Engineer (Redis & MongoDB) Role Overview: 24x7 L1 Support Engineer to manage and operate our NoSQL database environment, specifically focusing on Redis and/or MongoDB. You will be the first line of defense for a large-scale enterprise infrastructure, ensuring 99% availability and rapid incident response.

Key Responsibilities

1. 24x7 Monitoring & Operations: Perform daily monitoring activities, alert handling, and event management for Redis and/or MongoDB instances. Understanding of both databases is a big plus.

2. Incident Response: Provide a first-response handling for all incidents with a response time target.

3. Service Request Fulfillment: Execute user requests such as access authorization, configuration changes, and basic troubleshooting via the ticketing system.

4. Maintenance & Security: Perform quarterly minor patches (guided and supported by L2), manage backups/restores, and ensure all activities comply with the client’s security standards.

5. Documentation: Maintain accurate daily activity checklists, update SOPs, and record all database assets in the CMDB.

Qualifications

1. Certification: Associate Level Certification in Redis and/or MongoDB is a big plus.

2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Redis and/or MongoDB management, including storage housekeeping and user management.

3. Operational Agility: Ability to work in a 3-shift rotation and provide on-site support.
