Job Description:

Villa Capri Island, a premier Italian restaurant located in the scenic area of PIK Island, is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of Italian cuisine while ensuring smooth kitchen operations. You'll assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency.

  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality Italian dishes.

  • Support the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe creation, and food costing.

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure proper food handling, cooking techniques, and safety standards.

  • Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including cleanliness and hygiene standards.

  • Handle inventory management, including ordering, stock rotation, and controlling food waste.

  • Monitor kitchen operations and resolve any issues promptly.

  • Manage paperwork, including inventory logs, production sheets, and employee schedules.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within an Italian restaurant.

  • Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, cooking techniques, and ingredient sourcing.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.

  • Proficient in kitchen paperwork, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and cost control.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and lead a team effectively.

  • A passion for culinary excellence and creativity.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
